Red Sanders: Founder of Red Productions

In this episode, Jamey sits down with Red Sanders, the visionary founder behind RED Productions. Sanders, a Grapevine native and TCU alumni, kick started his entrepreneurial journey at the young age of 12. In the episode, you’ll even hear how, while attending TCU, Jamey hired Red (known at the time as "DJ Red Sanders”) to DJ a party for his fake fraternity.

Red’s entrepreneurial spirit, media expertise, and love for visual narratives made RED Productions a powerhouse in the Texas media landscape. The company stands tall as an Emmy award-winning, full-service script-to-screen media production company, specializing in a diverse array of projects, from national TV commercials to brand films, TV series, and feature-length movies.

But Red's impact is even greater than his company. His journey is a testament to staying true to yourself and embracing the potential of your hometown. After graduating from TCU, his peers flocked to LA and NYC,  but Red chose to remain in Fort Worth. This decision and his passion has been instrumental in placing Fort Worth and North Texas on the cinematic map.

He collaborated with the Fort Worth Chamber, Visit FW, and Mayor Betsy Price to establish the Fort Worth Film Commission, a game-changer in attracting outside filmmakers and creating local job opportunities. His involvement in various boards, including chairing the Lone Star Film Society board and advocating for Texas Media Production Alliance, underscores his commitment to the industry's growth and development in our city.

The conversation touches upon Red's recent milestones, from producing "Self-Employed," an eight-episode TV series featured on “Max”, to Kendrick Lamar's "N-95" music video (spoiler alert: it earned a nomination for "Best Cinematography" at the 2022 MTV VMA Awards!)

But behind the accolades and accomplishments is a person deeply rooted in family and community. Married to wife Jenny and a proud father of three adventurous kids - Hank, Eloise, and Owen - Red embraces his professional and personal life with humility and grace.

Throughout his journey, Red  has maintained an unwavering hustle, exemplifying resilience and dedication in the pursuit of his dreams. This episode will inspire aspiring creatives, entrepreneurs, and anyone seeking insight into building a thriving career while staying connected to their roots.
