Defined Dish’s Alex Snodgrass: Blogger and New York Times Bestselling Author

Alex Snodgrass is a recipe developer, food stylist and author of The New York Times Bestselling books, The Defined Dish and The Comfortable Kitchen.

Growing up in Celina, Texas, Alex and her family would have dinner together most nights. Little did Alex know, these moments of cooking with her mom would pave the way to her career. Once Alex got to college, she realized that she didn’t like eating out and missed her mom’s cooking. As soon as she lived in an apartment, she started making meals for herself and her friends, calling her mom so she could write down all the secrets to the family favorites.

It wasn’t until after the birth of her first daughter that Alex started her blog: The Defined Dish. She was struggling with her physical and mental health and her sister suggested that she try the Whole30, but after a few days of bland chicken and broccoli, Alex knew she had to have delicious food and bold flavors. She began experimenting and sharing her recipes online. It didn’t take her long to gain an enthusiastic following.

Since then, Alex has written two cookbooks and is currently working on her third. Additionally, Alex and her team are launching SideDish Dressings, a line of multi-purpose salad dressings with Whole30 and Paleo approved options. To this day, Alex’s passion for healthy eating, bold flavors, and time with her family around the table drives her to continue experimenting and sharing her delicious and nutritious recipes with the world.
